Too Long ago
School Admin- long days, early until late. Working with grades 9 thru 12, very challenging, very rewarding.
If you don’t get to work on time, don’t bother coming in at all (from my grandfather when painting houses). During the depression, the only ones who had jobs were the teachers (from my father who was a steam fitter).
Show up on time and be prepared to get dirty.
For the last ten years I have been working at a technical school that has combined college prep academics with technical/vocational education. Seeing the self-esteem of the graduates is great.
