Another great story, Peggy! I almost felt like I had been there with you!
I'm headed to Italy next month, and several comments in your story hit home for me. For one thing, I'll be with a group of 50, not 8, so I just know someone (meaning me!) will get separated from the group on probably more than one occasion. At least in England you spoke the language. The only Italian I know is a rude phrase a friend taught me long ago!
Packing lightly is something I have never been able to accomplish. And there is no way I could pack for eleven days using only a carry-on suitcase, although I have to say those space saver bags really have come in handy in the past. I also heard about packing old undies that could be thrown out after wearing. But then I remember my mother's advice to always wear clean, nice underwear in case I'm in an accident!
And then there is the problem with the locals driving on the "wrong" side of the road. It's the same in Italy and since I've heard Italian drivers make a sport out of aiming at pedestrians I'd better learn how to move quickly or suffer the consequences (see the previous paragraph regarding clean underwear)!
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! Can't wait to here about your next adventure!
Ciao!
Liz
That made me laugh.I had begun seeing green stripes in my sleep.
Sounds like an amazing trip Mrs. Rowe! You should write for a travel magazine!
Enjoyed the blog very much.
