That is a funny story Mrs. Rowe! Reminds me of the time my husband finally learned that his Mom's famous brownies, to which all box brownie mix could not compare, were in fact a Betty Crocker box mix! The look of pure disappointment will never leave my mind, he was crushed. I must admit, it sure took the pressure off of my baking. Tee-hee!

Haha! I love baking from scratch. It can be time consuming so I usually have to dedicate a day to making whatever it is.

Awesome, make me some brownies please!

P.S.-I wonder if Mrs. Rowe will come on and let us know what one thing she will always make fresh. For me, oddly enough, it's always mashed potatoes. Just can't do the instant.

You got it! Shall I add some chopped walnuts or coconut flakes?

I don't like canned soup or instant potatoes.

Well...we didn't have canned sweet potatoes OR instant mashed potatoes! We were working so hard on my new office...the "Mall-seum" that I am putting together for the tourism board...that we ended up with frozen pizza & pumpkin cheesecake ice cream for this year's Thanksgiving dinner. Oh and a really great Pumpkin Ale too!
I did miss the homemade sweet potato biscuits though...I think I will have to make a double-double batch for Christmas dinner!

Hope you all had a great day of Thankfulness!

Hi Melody! You may have missed the traditional Thanksgiving dinner, but at least you all enjoyed the frozen pizza together!

Glad you had a good Thanksgiving and I hope you get those sweet potato biscuits for Christmas!

I've never made stuffing from scratch. I don't think far enough ahead to dry the bread out. Stove Top is my stuffing of choice.

Some of the best potatoes I've had are from flakes, and I was shocked they were not from scratch. A friend makes the flake potatoes with cream cheese in a crockpot. Delish

Thanks for the confession, Mrs. Rowe. It was good for my soul~~
