I don't disagree with that. there were many opportunities to act, and they weren't taken. We all paid a price for that. Hopefully we've learned a lesson from it though.

So, what did the 'actions' of Bush get us?? Two wars that were not paid for, countless lives of our young people lost, our economy shot to h3ll, countless military personel wounded and their families devestated by repeated deployments. Mmmmm, maybe Clinton was right. If Bush wanted so badly to do the things he did, he should have thought out the consequences for our nation, before just jumping in with our economy at stake. Our enemies are probably still laughing at the damage we did to ourselves, trying to retaliate.

Loretta, the actions of Bush kept us safe for 8 years. The inaction of Clinton emboldened the enemy and possibly led to 9/11.
Unbelievable.President Obama gave a shout-out to President Obama during a surprise visit to Afghanistan on Tuesday.
Speaking to American troops gathered at Bagram Air Base, the president called out the names of several military units “in the house”—who cheered upon hearing their name—before adding: “And we’ve got me in the house.”

Love it!

Yeah, Kay, I think a shout-out to the individual units alone would have been not only sufficient, but appropriate...not to mention, much more classy. Let someone else praise you. That works out better.
What you’re saying is that even before 9/11, Clinton should have started a couple of wars, approved the current controversial wiretapping practices, and created the TSA to give millions of Americans rectal exams at the airport in order to smoke out the terrorists, and all of that wouldn’t have been shouted down as unnecessary government intrusion, spitting in the face of the Founding Fathers, etc. Seriously?

I think this what is usually called Revisionist History. I just call it Bull-hockey.

it's a marathon, not a sprint
Maybe if Clinton hadn't had to spend so much of his time defending himself from your accusations, he would have had more time to get bin Laden. True the original act was Clinton's fault and I'm not denying that, but the Republicans kept hammering at him for years, even though the majority of the public could have cared less. It took an amazing amount of his time, that should have been spent taking care of the country. As for Bush keeping us safe, who's to know if this is really true? Maybe the terrorists ran out of money, or they decided to just wait and see what Bush did. As we now know, he started two wars and brought our country to our knees financially, so there was no need to do more to us.
Loretta
As usual, you have no idea what I'm saying.
Meantime, Obama is getting a little heat for spiking the Osama football.
