Tina White, Vice President and Director of Ops for mikeroweWORKS received this wonderful letter from Jackie –

Dear Tina,

I really want to tell you how wonderful you made my week in Kansas City. As soon as I met you, I knew that you were a very special person. I absolutely loved your outgoing personality, and I thought it was amazing how you were able to make everybody feel so welcome and comfortable around you. More importantly, I loved how great you made me feel. I’ve never had anyone pay so much attention to me! After having the wonderful opportunity to go and be interviewed, and seeing how much everyone liked me and how good they thought my idea was, I realized that I really can do something great in life. I thought it was amazing how much you all believed in me. It really put a smile on my face.

When I won the silver medal at closing ceremony, I never expected to see you backstage. I was so surprised when you were there! Seeing how excited you were really pumped me up, and I thought it was funny how you couldn’t cry because you weren’t wearing waterproof mascara. I loved how you walked my team and I through the prize line, and even though there isn’t a Lowe’s in little old Lewiston, I still really enjoyed the gift and the opportunity to be backstage.

I wanted to say thank you to the mikeroweWORKS Foundation for giving me the opportunity to have this wonderful experience in Kansas City. I felt on top of the world when I received that scholarship, and it definitely did a lot more than just send me to Kansas City. I met so many wonderful and amazing people. I learned how to be a leader, and how important it is to be skilled and motivated.  On top of all that, mikeroweWORKS did one thing for me that means way more than anything else they showed me this week. They opened my eyes to how much potential I have in the world, something I have never seen before. I realized that I can do amazing things in others’ lives, and leave as much of an impact as mikeroweWORKS has left on me. Tina and mikeroweWORKS, I have to say congratulations, because you have changed a life. Keep writing those checks, because it does incredible things for others.

Sincerely,
Jacqueline Davis

    2. As an adult going to a technical institute this fall I can understand your excitement and tentative emotions about how well you will do or even if you have chosen the right thing for you. That smile on your face tells me you have. I hope you always remember the kindness and warmth that Tina and mikeroweWORKS have shown you and that you keep coming back. We need students like you. Students who dream big. God Bless.
