from mikeroweWORKS HQ:

Mike Rowe tests his knowledge on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire to raise money for the mikeroweWORKS Foundation benefitting recipients like Andrew Reisinger, one of the mikeroweWORKS Foundation 2011 tool scholarship recipients. Andrew, along with his parents, joined Mike at the taping of Millionaire.  (See the BTS video of the two of them HERE.)

RECAP OF MIKE ROWE’S APPEARANCE ON TUESDAY’S EPISODE OF “WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE”:

MIKE ROWE TAKES HOME $100,000 TO BENEFIT mikeroweWORKS FOUNDATION!

Mike Rowe, creator, executive producer and host of “Dirty Jobs,” as well as the voice of “Deadliest Catch,” appeared as a Millionaire contestant with host Meredith Vieira, in episodes that aired on February 27 and February 28.

Mike started Tuesday’s show by looking at the tenth question (which is the final question in round #1 of the game), with an accumulated Millionaire Bank of $28,600 and one lifeline left (“Jump The Question” #2”).

On Tuesday’s show, Mike made it all the way up to the $250,000 QUESTION, but decided to not take a guess and walk away with his accumulated Millionaire Bank, which had risen to $100,000. If Mike had guessed incorrectly on the $250,000 question, he would have fallen back to $25,000 in winnings. Mike was able to take home $100,000 to benefit the mikeroweWORKS Foundation. Formed in 2008, Mike’s website and foundation support and promote the skilled trades and serve as a “PR Campaign for Hard Work.”

Mike successfully navigated his way through round #1 of the game (questions 1-10) and went on to round #2 (questions 11-14) with an accumulated Millionaire Bank of $28,600 and no lifelines left.

Once a contestant makes it into round #2 of Millionaire (best described as “Classic Millionaire”), they only have four more questions to answer. Unlike the first round of the game, questions in round #2 become progressively more difficult and the monetary value attached to the question is no longer shuffled and hidden. If a contestant decides to not take a guess and walk away from the game in round #2, they are able to take home their entire accumulated Millionaire Bank. If a contestant incorrectly answers a question in round #2, they fall back to $25,000 in winnings.

$100,000 Question:

Whose car was once stolen and is said to have been returned with the note, “If we’d known it was yours, we never would have taken it”?

A: Rudy Giuliani
B: Steven Seagal
C: Mister Rogers
D: 50 Cent

* Lifelines Used: none
* Correct Answer: C
* $ Value of Question: $100,000

$250,000 Question:

Cloned by European scientists in 1996, what breed of sheep was the world-famous Dolly?

A: Delaine Merino
B: Finn Dorset
C: East Friesian
D: Rambouillet

Out of lifelines and unsure of the answer, Mike decided to not take a guess and walk away with his entire Millionaire Bank, which had risen to $100,000.
