Jane Pauley’s “Your Life is Calling Today” series from the Today Show & AARP reports on Charlie Thornton, a man who went from engineering buildings to engineering careers. Charlie Thornton was the structural engineer for some of the biggest and grandest buildings in the world. Now he has gone back to high school to mentor the next generation of engineers and builders. His inspiration to mentor came from his father, a bricklayer who was a role model to many young people, he hired them and taught them a trade. With other industry leaders Charlie Thornton started a mentoring program called ACE – “Architecture, Construction & Engineering.
