Holy Crap! Alan Mulally just told me a story about a woman named Sally Gibbs. Sally is a very nice woman who sent Ford a check several years ago in the amount of ten dollars. Sally wanted to show her modest support for a company that refused to take taxpayer money, and played such a big role in the manufacturing backbone of this country. I swear, Alan actually teared up telling me the story. Then his assistant told me that Alan – being Alan – called the woman at home to personally thank her. (This is not the behavior of your average CEO.) Apparently, Sally and Alan have since struck up a correspondence. His assistant happened to have some those letters, and showed me a few during dinner this evening. I read them aloud, and two of them are on the video below. It’s a bit disjointed, and a little noisy. But I’m posting it because the enthusiasm of this guy is rather extraordinary. The man walks the walk. And if there was ever a CEO who shares the views of this site, it would be Alan Mulally. He gets it…big time. Click here to watch the video.

I wish that you could tell me how to reach Mr. Mulally. I have a huge problem with a Ford Escape Hybrid vehicle that is 3 years old and has a problem with the main battery. I have been “apologized to” and told that “they have not seen this before” but no help offered at all with a $9,000.00 repair on a 3 year old car. I have driven Fords for over 30 years and this is how I am treated?? VERY disappointed. The car is not even paid for yet! I need to reach someone who can help me. Please let me know if you can help. No one expects this type of problem so soon with a car.
Seeing this reinstills my pride in the America I love. If more CEOs had the integrity and passion of Alan Mulally, We would not be in the financial crisis we are in. Like Sally, I own a Mazda, even though my family consistantly owned Fords my entire life. I don’t necessarily feel guilty, but I do have regret that I did not make the better choice. Next time, there will only be one choice for me…Ford.

My first car will be a ford, for sure!
What a great Story! Ford announced that profits were up just a few days ago, showing that American Dream is still alive and they did it all without a gov’t handout.
Way to go Ford! And way to go Sally.
Great video, Mike and Alan!
I was impressed by the whole tone of the Ford reveal. It was positive , appropriate for the 21 century world, and interactive. Having Mike represent Ford changed the perception of the populace willing to look at it as a viable option to choose for their car and trucks needs. I felt part of it and I was home. I want to see how it affects sales as we may go for one someday. We are on our second Thunderbird and the first had 200 thousand plus miles on it. Great job Mike and great job Ford.

I worried that Ford wouldn’t be able to make it, I worried that the government would make it difficult for Ford to be successful, I worried that people would buy government motors cars because their tax dollars were holding them up, I worried that Ford quality wouldn’t be good enough to compete with the competition. I worried for nothing. Ford made the right moves, made the right cars, did the hard work, and I absolutely delighted in watching Alan in these videos, he is one happy man and he should be, he did everything right and deserves to be happy. Their success makes me happy too.
