Mike,

You as a former Eagle your-self you should know that once you are an Eagle you are Always an Eagle. So basically you should not say that you were a former Eagle. And you were talking about Virginia an event? National Jamboree I presume.

I was at the Jambo and enjoyed your presentation (it brought back many old memories for me)...but what I have really enjoyed is your letter to new Eagles, the comments to the father's son and your support of Scouting today. As a plant manager and an "older" Eagle Scout ('73), I still "get dirty" and really appreciate your honesty in what it takes to be successful. Thankyou for using your position to pass this along to our young men. We need a lot more guys like you in our work force!

Thanks for your contribution to the Boy Scouts 100th anniversary celebration and for your support of the values that underlie scouting. My wife and I were part of the Jamboree staff. My son was a member of jamboree troop 620. He liked with your talk. He was also on the flight with you on the return to San Francisco from the Jamboree along with 70 other scout. Thanks for signing his bacpack. It was the first thing he showed me at the airport.

Mike
Arrived back to Wisconsin last Thursday from the National Jamboree. I just wanted to let you know what a great job you did at the Saturday night show. We could not have asked for a better MC.

Mike, I too am a fellow Eagle Scout (1982, Troop 121, Paden City WV), and I attended the 1981 National Jamboree as a Scout. I was in the DC area this year visiting family at the same time as the 2010 Jambo, and decided to day-trip on Saturday. Being at AP Hill for the first and last BSA National Jamboree was a very moving experience, but off all the great memories I'll have as an adult visiting the 2010 Jambo, the high point will always be your presentation at the Arena Show. Thanks for coming to the Jamboree in person, and thanks for adding a bit of history, levity, and even bringing a few tears to the eyes of us "old timers". After being away from Scouting since my college days, you have inspired me to rekindle the Scouting Spirit in my own heart, and get involved again--this time as Scouter--so that I can give back a little to an organization that formed such an important part of me becoming a man...

Dear Baltimore Area Council Dulaney Troop 16 Eagle Scout Mike!
A simple thanks just doesn't seem to cut it...but a sincere thank you for meeting with some of the local Dulaney Scouts at the Jamboree. All of us predict your inspiring comments of personal leadership growth will be retold for many years. And...introducing your parents to the 80,000+ Scouts, leaders and friends in the audience at the show was way cool!!

I guess that explains why you are such a charismatic persona.... (almost a kid at heart...!) I was a fan before, but now I'm an even bigger one, knowing that the qualities of the BSA can show up in the most surprising places,(some dirtier than others!) and through each and every Boy Scout. It shows in you, and I hope it will rub off on the next generation of Scouts... Truly a breed apart.... God Bless you always.

Eagle Scout Mike, thank you for taking time to address our scouts at Jamboree. Your participation helped make Jamboree an awesome experience and surely will aid in inspiring scouts to be the best they can be - clean or dirty.
