Hi Mike,
Thanks for this because life is what it is and life can be hectic, well I was not able to mourn with the rest of the world for Phil….TV is something you watch when you can…not watch cause something is on …for six yrs now I have watched Deadliest Catch as often as I could often recording it so I wouldn’t miss it and even then wasn’t able to catch it all. I have a 2 and 4 year old and well my time is with them. So thanks again for posting this so I could have a moment with Phil that otherwise I would have again missed…. I am hoping Discovery shows more of it in the after hours usually after 12 is when I can watch. I really miss him and it is now just hitting reality….when he died it was like a blip on tv and Facebook…and you really just didn’t embrace it then…mostly due to denial…but then the previews of the shows started and well tears have come and numbness follows….I kinda dread season seven…but I also embrace the new journey his boys will be on!!
God Bless all those connected to Deadliest Catch and thank you for introducing us to the some of the finest Americans and most wonderful real people this world could ask for….I wish I could of been one to shake Phil’s hand but maybe one day I will meet and shake the hand of someone who knew him…that will have to do, then again I know it would be totally awesome to meet the captains for all of them are special…it’s just that now with Phil no longer with us it will always be bittersweet.
Blue Collar lost a friend, working class lost an inspiration. Smooth seas and fair winds Phil.
People build all their lives the audience they will have when life on earth is through. If the legions of family, friends and fans is any indication, Captain Phil was absolutely one heck of a man. I loved Deadliest Catch, especially Captain Phil…was tremendously saddened when he passed. He was a man I would definately liked to have met. Rest in peace, Captain. Godspeed.
Mike, your words about Phil are beautiful. I think you knew him better than you think.
Thanks for sharing his memorial with us. He really was an amazing human being. Obviously, God needed him more than the earth did….
God bless you, Mike.
Mike, you are a true gentleman for your beautiful words and for sharing Phil’s legacy on your web site. Godspeed to you and Phil’s family.
I found the first show of the season very hard to watch, then thought I’d gotten past that, until they showed Phil talking about missing Jake (who was still on the Northwestern), and how much it meant to him to have his boys working with him. Glad I keep a hankie nearby!
RIP Captain Phil – you are greatly missed…
Thanks Mike for offering This Video service Through your website, for Capt. Phil. Allowing thousands more to be a part of this event.
I can’t get over the thought that Phil is gone. I’m having trouble watching the new shows now. It will never be the same without him & my heart goes out to Jake & Josh. He’s gone way too soon. Rest in peace Capt. Phil. Will never forget you! Wish I could have met you.
