plastic bottlesThe hardworking and dedicated staff of mrW is all about the brown before the green. If you’re new to the site and not familiar with this concept, then check out Mike’s opinion on the matter. Actually, its less of an opinion and more of a great way to think (or rethink) about our own carbon footprints.

On a recent edition of the ABC News, they had a story about a boat launching out of San Francisco bay made of recycled materials. In fact, plastic bottles filled with carbon dioxide is what’s actually keeping the boat afloat. They’re heading off to Sydney, Australia to raise awareness of the stuff we leave behind. Let’s hope they make it safe and sound with a story to tell.

The closest I might come to a project like this would be building a birdhouse out of popsicle sticks. Well, if it means eating hundreds of popsicles then I’m just the guy to do it. Check out the ABC story about the Plastiki by clicking here.

BTW, have any of you good folks put recycled materials to use in your lives? Let’s hear about and let’s see the photos!
