carbon footprint smokestackMark your calendars: in early December, officials and environmental wonks are going to be gathering in Copenhagen for the United Nations Climate Conference. One hundred and ninety two countries are on board to hash out an agreement for how to handle climate change. Imagine trying to order lunch for this bunch let alone solving climate change issues.

The BBC has put together a handy chart on where the big players stand on this issue. You can review this chart to see where countries stand on cutting emissions and how they want to pay for it. It’s interesting to note that 62% of Chinese public opinion doesn’t think climate change is a serious threat whereas in the US it is the opposite with 64% of Americans thinking climate change is a serious threat.

If you want to find out more about past conferences and what’s on the agenda for Copenhagen this website from the Guardian can provide the answers. There are plenty of opinions to sort through on all sides of this issue. At least everyone is making the attempt to talk about it!
