Okay, show of hands: who here has wasted countless hours on Youtube? Admit; we’re all guilty. You click on to watch on panda sneezing video and suddenly you find yourself watching polar bears licking ice for fruit treats which leads to puppies playing to a cat jumping in an out of a box. Before you know it, half you day is gone. Well, maybe not literally but a web site like that can certainly add to the procrastination rate.
Finally there is a video upload site geared for the classroom. Teachertube offers up a growing array of video snippets on a wide variety of subjects that are perfect tools to help get a message across. A recent sampling showed Mr. Duey rapping about fractions, a 50 states and capitol cartoon song, and a fun 9 Times Multiplication Hip Hop video.
There are also blog posts and a forum to swap ideas and experiences. Who knows maybe this will even inspire you and your class room to get into the act. If you do put together a video lesson for Teachertube, we’d love to see it here!

Thanks so much for sharing, this looks like it can be a valuable resource, especially to a homeschooling parent like myself. I’m hoping we’ll find ways to contribute and help it grow.
